Grandma Review Chevrolet Sonic

Grandma Review: Chevrolet Sonic -

I have not owned an American car since 1992, but it was over 35 years I even led Chevrolet . In 1979, my husband bought himself a Caprice, with the largest available engine V8. Usually, we owned Chryslers, Dodges and once, a gr een Mustang V8, like Steve McQueen drove in Bullit t. There was also a Mercury Sable and Ford Escort -. A compact car that was probably smaller than the Chevrolet Sonic I was renting in Florida

When I booked the car, the rental agent told me said I would be able to get a Honda Civic, but I ended up with this little black Sonic. I remember Derek went to the Sonic drive when it first came out, and he had good things to say about it. I do not know if I liked it so much he did.

I certainly like the hatchback style as my Honda Fit. It is easier to see on, although Sonic was nice and nimble and easy to park. The engine was a little quieter and a little smoother too, but did not feel as sensitive as the Fit. I also like how Honda is a little higher.

The trunk space in the Sonic also could not fit both my friend walker and buggy bundle I use to carry my shopping, but its not really a fair comparison. The Sonic is a sedan, and can not be expected to hold as much as a hatchback

Two things I did not like :. There is no release to the fuel filler. You simply press the door opens. It is not a bad idea, but it is very confusing for someone like me. It was also strange using a button to turn the headlights on and off. It would have been easier if the rental company included the owners manual.

After driving the Sonic for a month, I never really warmed up to it. There is a car looking sharp, and much better than what I thought of an American car, but I do not think I want one on my Honda. So far, Ive felt that way on both rental cars. Maybe if Derek lets me drive a Jaguar F-Type, Ill feel differently (hint hint, Derek).
