Chevrolet made the announcement today at The Work Truck Show 2017, and confirmed the truck is on track to launch in 2018. Technical specifications for Chevrolets new medium-duty truck, including cab and frame dimensions, horsepower and torque, GAWR, GVWR, payload and other ratings, will be released close to launch. General Motors confirmed that Chevrolets all-new Class 4/5 commercial truck will be powered by a Duramax engine and Allison transmission. The first Duramax diesel engines were introduced in Chevrolet and GMC trucks in 2001. Their designs have been used in a variety of applications, including refuse, construction, fire, distribution, bus, motorhomes, defense and energy.

Chevrolet Announces New Medium-Duty Commercial Truck
Chevrolet announced Friday that it is adding a new low cab forward medium-duty commercial truck that is expected to be available by the end of the year. This news comes after Chevrolet announced in 2016 that it was returning to the medium-duty truck market and would offer six low cab forward medium-duty trucks through a GM-Isuzu partnership. The company will introduce its new offering at the NTEA Work Truck Show next week in Indianapolis. The medium-duty truck has a maximum GVWR of 25,950 pounds. The trucks will be built at the companys assembly plant in Charlotte, Mich., where the other low cab forward trucks are made, as well as in Japan.
